God’s presence intertwines with every aspect of our lives—our business plans, social interactions, affections, manual labor, everything—flowing sweetly and consistently through it all. His presence is like the fragrance of a flower or the constant nearness of a friend. It does not hinder us in the slightest, even during the most intense or preoccupied moments of our day. How beautiful is this unceasing communion with God, which becomes second nature, blending seamlessly into our thoughts and actions!

It’s lovely to witness an old saint at the end of the day, putting away his books and saying, "Lord Jesus, everything is still the same between us," before peacefully falling asleep in His care.

Let us grow into this deep friendship with Christ. He will never tire of our companionship, and He will never push us away. How beautiful are the words of the suffering saint: "He never says goodbye. He stays." So let us stay with Him.
