I in them and You in Me—that they may be perfectly united, so that the world may know that You sent Me and have loved them just as You have loved Me. — John 17:23 BSB
If we are to be filled to the full measure of God’s purpose for us, we must first grasp something of our own capacity for being filled.
We have little idea of the true size and scope of a human soul and spirit. Only when God renews, cleanses, and fills the heart can we begin to understand the vast potential of the being created in His image and now renewed after the likeness of the Lord Jesus.
We know that God designed the human soul to be His temple, His dwelling place. And He knows how to fashion a house large enough to hold His infinite fullness. We experience this to some extent when the Holy Spirit comes upon us, quickening our whole being with life, and when new baptisms of His presence awaken dormant parts of our souls that we didn’t even know were there.
Let us give Him permission to make the best of us. One day, we will stand in awe of the glorious temple He has built in us and marvel, "Lord, what is man, that You are mindful of him?"
