You, little children, are from God and have overcome them, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. — 1 John 4:4 BSB
Satan loves to trip us up over little things. It’s often a greater victory for him to show that he can knock us down with a straw. This reminds me of the boast of the Jebusites, who told David they could defend Jerusalem with a garrison of the blind and lame. Most of us handle our big struggles better than the little ones. Adam’s fall came through something as small as an apple, but it wrecked the entire world.
Look out for the little stumbling blocks, beloved, and don’t let Satan laugh at how easily he tripped you over something trivial. When the devil wants to block a great blessing in our lives, he often casts a shadow over it, making it seem distasteful to us. Many of us have been kept from some of the greatest blessings of our lives by a false or foolish prejudice.
