“Food for the stomach and the stomach for food,” but God will destroy them both. The body is not intended for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. — 1 Cor 6:13 BSB

Just as Christ Himself is our justification and sanctification, it is only through personal union with Him that we receive physical life and redemption. It’s not a mere touch of power upon our bodies that restores us, leaving us to rely on natural strength. Instead, it is a vital, continuous union with the risen body of Christ. His life flows into our mortal bodies, and He becomes our strength, health, and physical redemption.

Christ is alive forevermore, and He condescends to live in these earthly bodies. Those who receive Him in this way know Him as no one else can. This is one of the deep and precious mysteries of the Gospel. Our bodies are for the Lord, and the Lord is for our bodies. "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body, which belongs to Him."
