They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and requested of him, “Sir, we want to see Jesus.” — John 12:21 BSB
Glory to Him for all the things prepared for us in the days ahead. Glory to Him for the visions of future service, for the opportunities to do good, both far away and near at hand. Our Savior was able to endure the cross because of the joy set before Him. Let us look up to Him and rise to Him, until we reach the heights and can look out from the mount of vision over all the vast land ahead. There will not be a single event in the future where we won’t be able to see the King in His beauty. Let us be careful that we see nothing else. Our eyes will be so focused on this vision that everything we look at will reflect it. My little child once came to me and said, “Papa, look at that golden sign across the street for a while, then look at the brick wall and tell me what you see.” “I see the golden sign on the brick wall,” I replied. He laughed in delight. In the same way, if we look long at Jesus, we won’t be able to see anything else without seeing a reflection of Him. Everything we behold will become a part of Him.
