For whoever serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men. — Rom 14:18 BSB

God can only use us when we are in the right spiritual state. Satan was more interested in Peter’s failure after denying Jesus than in the denial itself. That’s why Jesus said, “I have prayed for you that your faith would not fail.” It was Peter’s faith that Satan attacked, and it’s our faith that the enemy contests. The testing of our faith is more precious than gold that perishes.

Whatever else happens, hold fast to your faith. "Do not throw away your confidence," and hold firmly to the hope you have until the end. And if you want to maintain your faith, also hold fast to a sweet, right spirit, obedience to Christ, and victory in every area.

Whatever trials come, consider them secondary to the importance of triumphing in your faith. Accept every circumstance as part of God’s will, raise the banner of victory over every foe, and press on with the shout of "Thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ!"
