For it is God who works in you to will and to act on behalf of His good purpose. — Phil 2:13 BSB

God has one path for each of us—not two. He has one best and highest choice for us, not multiple options to pick from. It’s a blessing to discover and fulfill God’s perfect will. When our life and work align with His plan, much energy is saved. So much spiritual force is wasted in aimless efforts, scattered attempts at doing good that aren’t aligned with God’s purpose. There is enough spiritual and financial strength among dedicated Christians today to bring Christ’s return, to evangelize the world in a generation, if only that energy were directed according to God’s plan.

Christ laid down a clear plan for His Church, and He expects us to understand it and work accordingly. As we grasp His vision and faithfully follow it, we will work with purpose and please Him far more than through our thoughtless, reckless efforts to carry out our own ideas, expecting God to bless them.
