I am the vine and you are the branches. The one who remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing. — John 15:5 BSB
“How can I take Christ as my Sanctifier or Healer?” This is a question we often hear. First, we must get into the posture of faith through a deliberate and voluntary act. Then, we must maintain this posture by forming a habit. It’s like planting a tree—you put it in the soil through a definite action, and then leave it there so its roots can grow and begin drawing sustenance from the ground. There are two stages: the initial planting and then the ongoing absorption of nourishment.
Once the tree is established, it draws life from the soil effortlessly. In the same way, we must plant ourselves in Christ and let our spiritual roots grow deep. Then, drawing from His life will become as natural for us as breathing.
Lord, help me today to abide in You and develop the habit of drawing all my life from You, so that I can truly say, “In Him I live and move and have my being.”
