We know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless, that we should no longer be slaves to sin. — Rom 6:6 BSB
Faith and sight often conflict. What our senses tell us may seem contrary, but faith teaches us to trust God’s Word regardless. This can be a difficult position to hold, but when we truly believe, faith will turn God's promises into reality.
The words "yield" and "reckon" are keys to living the resurrection life. These two acts of surrender and faith are like two sides of the Sword of the Spirit that allow us to enter into union with Christ’s death and resurrection. This does not mean we must continually die to sin, but rather that we have died once and for all and should now live with a mindset of being dead to sin but alive to God through Jesus Christ.
