Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, so that in due time He may exalt you. — 1 Pet 5:6 BSB
The pressure of difficult times helps us appreciate life. Each time we come through a trial, it's as if life has been given back to us, and we value it more, using it more fully for God and for others.
Trials also give us a deeper understanding of the struggles others face and prepare us to help and empathize with them.
Some people have only a shallow understanding of God’s promises and speak lightly of the struggles of others. But those who have truly suffered understand deeply and are compassionate. Paul expressed this when he said, "Death works in us, but life in you." The hard times push us forward, just like the fires in a ship’s engine room give it the power to move through the sea against the wind and waves.
