It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. — 1 Cor 13:7 BSB
In Isaiah, there’s a beautiful expression of the Lord’s love for His people: "They are My people, children who will not lie; so He was their Savior." Even though they did lie, He speaks as if He didn’t believe it, because of His immense love. He says, "He has not seen iniquity in Jacob, nor perversity in Israel."
There’s plenty of iniquity to see, and the devil sees it all. Many people are quick to notice it too, but the Father, in His love, chooses to cover it with the precious blood of His Son.
Such a wonderful love should make us gentler toward others and more determined to give our Father less reason to cover His eyes from our faults.
If we have the mind of Christ, we will look at others through the lens of His grace, seeing them not as they are, but as they can be. By love and prayer, we can help make them into what God intended.
Love believes all things.
