Commit your way to the LORD; trust in Him, and He will do it. — Ps 37:5 BSB

Seldom have we heard a better definition of faith than what a dear elderly woman once gave in one of our meetings, when asked by a young man how to rely on the Lord for needed help.

Pointing her finger at him with great emphasis, she said, "You've just got to believe that He's done it, and it's done." The greatest danger for most of us is that, after asking Him to do it, we don’t believe it’s already done. Instead, we continue trying to help God, enlisting others to help Him, supervising His work, and waiting to see how He will accomplish it.

Faith says its "amen" to God's "yes," then steps back and lets God finish His work. Its language is, "Commit your way to the Lord, trust in Him, and He will act."

Lord, I give up the struggle,
To Thee commit my way,
I trust Thy word forever,
And settle it all today.
