The Reach of Almighty Grace
Yet the number of the Israelites will be like the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured or counted. And it will happen that in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not My people,’ they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’ — Hos 1:10 BSB
God’s sovereign grace can turn strangers into sons, and the Lord declares His intention to do this for rebels, making them aware of His work. Dear reader, the Lord has done this for me—has He done the same for you? If so, let’s join together in praising His wonderful name.
Some of us were so far from God that His Word spoke directly to our hearts, saying, “You are not My people.” In church, at home, and whenever we read the Bible, we heard the voice of God’s Spirit convicting us, “You are not My people.” It was a sad and condemning message. But now, in those same places, through the same ministry and Scripture, we hear a different voice saying, “You are the sons of the living God.” Can we ever be thankful enough for this? Isn’t it amazing? Doesn’t it give us hope for others? Who is beyond the reach of God’s grace? How could we ever give up on anyone when God has worked such a miracle in us?
The God who kept this great promise will keep every other one as well. So, let’s move forward with songs of praise and confidence.
