Follow to Know

So let us know—let us press on to know the LORD. As surely as the sun rises, He will appear; He will come to us like the rain, like the spring showers that water the earth. — Hos 6:3 BSB

We won’t gain holy knowledge all at once, but step by step. Our job is to persevere and learn little by little. There’s no need to despair if our progress is slow, because we will eventually understand. The Lord, who is our Teacher, won’t give up on us, no matter how slow we are to understand, because it wouldn’t bring Him glory to let human ignorance defeat His skill. The Lord delights in making simple people wise.

Our duty is to focus on the main goal and continue seeking, not just this teaching or that, but God Himself. Knowing the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—this is eternal life. Let’s stay focused on this, for in doing so, we will gain complete understanding. As we continue to know the Lord, we learn healing after being wounded, binding up after being broken, and life after death. Experience does its perfect work when we follow the path laid out by the Almighty.

My soul, stay close to Jesus, continue seeking to know God in Him, and you will come to the knowledge of Christ—the highest of all knowledge. The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth. Isn’t that His wonderful promise? Trust Him to fulfill it.
