His Service, Face, Name

No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be within the city, and His servants will worship Him. They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. — Rev 22:3-4 BSB

Three precious blessings await us in the glory of heaven.

"His servants shall serve Him." No other masters will oppress us, and no other service will burden us. We will serve Jesus always, perfectly, without weariness or error. This is heaven for the saints—to serve Christ in all things and be recognized by Him as His faithful servants. This is the highest desire of our souls for eternity.

"And they shall see His face." This is what makes service a delight: indeed, it is the reward of serving Him. We shall know our Lord because we will see Him as He is. To see the face of Jesus is the greatest blessing a faithful servant could ever ask. What more could Moses have asked when he said, "Let me see Your face"?

"And His name shall be in their foreheads." As they gaze upon their Lord, His name will be engraved on their brows. They will be acknowledged by Him, and they will acknowledge Him. The inner work of grace will become the outward sign of their relationship with Him.

O Lord, give us these three blessings in their beginnings here on earth so that we may fully possess them in Your eternal kingdom!
