Know How to Wait

So this is what the Lord GOD says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; the one who believes will never be shaken. — Isa 28:16 BSB

He will be quick to follow the Lord’s commandments, but he won’t rush in a way that’s impatient or inappropriate.

He won’t be in a hurry to flee because he won’t be overcome by the fear that causes panic. When others are running in confusion as if they’ve lost their senses, the believer will stay calm, steady, and thoughtful, enabling him to act wisely when things get tough.

He won’t rush to get everything right away, demanding his blessings immediately. Instead, he will patiently wait for God’s timing. Some people are desperate to have everything right now, thinking that God’s promises are far off and uncertain. But believers know how to wait.

He won’t rush into wrong or questionable actions. Unbelief always feels like it has to do something and often ends up causing its own ruin. But faith moves at a steady pace, not hurrying beyond what’s wise, so it never has to retrace its steps with regret.

How about me? Am I walking in faith, keeping the pace of a believer, walking with God? Peace, anxious heart! Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him! My soul, do this now!
