Heavenly Wealth
For the LORD God is a sun and a shield; the LORD gives grace and glory; He withholds no good thing from those who walk with integrity. — Ps 84:11 BSB
The Lord may withhold many things, but He will not withhold “any good thing.” He knows best what is good for us. Some things are certainly good, and these we may have for the asking through Jesus Christ.
Holiness is a good thing, and He freely works it in us. Victory over sinful tendencies, bad tempers, and harmful habits is something He gladly grants, and we should not live without it.
He will give us full assurance, close communion with Himself, access to all truth, and boldness in prayer. If we don’t have these blessings, it’s not because God is unwilling to give but because we lack the faith to receive them. A calm and heavenly frame, great patience, and fervent love—all these He gives to those who diligently seek Him.
But notice, we must “walk uprightly.” There can be no deception, dishonesty, or hypocrisy. If we live deceitfully, God cannot bless us, for that would reward sin. The path of uprightness is the path to heavenly riches—riches so vast that they include every good thing.
What a promise to bring before God in prayer! Let us fall to our knees.
