Burdens Cast on Him

Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken. — Ps 55:22 BSB

You carry a heavy burden—roll it onto God’s shoulders. Right now, that burden is crushing you, but when the Lord takes it, it will become light. If you are still called to bear it, He will sustain you. The burden will rest on Him, not on you, and He will strengthen you so that the burden becomes a blessing. Bring the Lord into your situation, and you will find that you can stand firm under what would have crushed you alone.

Our greatest fear is that our trials will push us off the path of righteousness. But the Lord will never allow this. If we stand righteous before Him, He will not let our suffering move us from our firm standing. In Jesus, we are accepted as righteous, and in Jesus, we are kept.

What about today? Are you stepping into this day’s trial alone? Are your shoulders aching under the weight again? Don’t be foolish—tell the Lord all about your trouble and leave it with Him. Don’t pick the burden back up after casting it down. Roll it onto the Lord and leave it there. Then, you will walk freely, a joyful, unburdened believer, praising your great Burden-Bearer.
