Care of Our Feet

He guards the steps of His faithful ones, but the wicked perish in darkness; for by his own strength shall no man prevail. — 1 Sam 2:9 BSB

The path is slippery, and our feet are weak, but the Lord will keep our feet steady. If we give ourselves to Him in obedient faith, seeking to live as His holy people, He will be our guardian. Not only will He command His angels to watch over us, but He Himself will protect our steps.

He will keep our feet from falling so that we do not stain our garments, wound our souls, or give the enemy cause to mock.

He will keep our feet from wandering so that we do not stray into error, foolishness, or the ways of the world.

He will keep our feet from swelling due to weariness or blistering because of the rough and long journey.

He will keep our feet from injury: our shoes will be like iron and bronze, so even if we tread on the edge of a sword or on deadly serpents, we will not bleed or be poisoned.

He will also free our feet from the snare. We will not be trapped by the deceit of our malicious and crafty enemies.

With such a promise as this, let us run without growing weary and walk without fear. He who keeps our feet will do so effectively.
