Return from Backsliding

If you return to the Almighty, you will be restored. If you remove injustice from your tents — Job 22:23 BSB

Eliphaz spoke a great truth in this passage, one that is echoed throughout Scripture. Reader, has sin brought you down? Have you become like a ruin? Has the hand of the Lord been against you, leaving you impoverished and broken in spirit? Was it your own foolishness that caused all this damage? Then the first thing you need to do is return to the Lord. With deep repentance and sincere faith, find your way back from your backsliding. It is your duty because you turned away from the One you professed to serve. It is your wisdom because you cannot fight against Him and win. It is your urgent necessity because what He has done so far is nothing compared to what He could do in terms of chastisement since He is Almighty to punish.

Look at the promise that awaits you! You shall be “built up.” Only the Almighty can restore the fallen pillars and rebuild the crumbling walls of your life, but He can and will do it if you return to Him. Do not delay. Your crushed spirit may completely fail you if you continue to rebel, but a heartfelt confession will ease your burden, and humble faith will comfort you. Do this, and all will be well.
