The "All" of Belief

“If You can?” echoed Jesus. “All things are possible to him who believes!” — Mark 9:23 BSB

Our unbelief is the greatest obstacle in our path; in fact, it’s the only real barrier to our spiritual growth and prosperity. The Lord can do anything, but when He declares that it will be done according to our faith, our unbelief limits His power in our lives.

Yes, the forces of evil will be scattered if we can just believe. The despised truth will rise up if we put our trust in the God of truth. We can bear the weight of our troubles and make it through the deepest trials if we wrap ourselves in the peace that comes from trusting God.

Why can’t we believe? Is it really easier to believe everything except God’s promises? He is always faithful; why do we struggle to trust Him? He always keeps His word; why can’t we rely on Him? When our hearts are in the right place, faith is effortless. It’s as natural as a child trusting in their father.

The sad truth is, we often believe God about everything except our present troubles. This is foolishness. Come on, my soul! Shake off this unbelief and trust your God with the burdens, the work, and the longings of today. When you do that, everything will fall into place.
