Preserved to Work's End

The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, “Take courage! As you have testified about Me in Jerusalem, so also you must testify in Rome.” — Acts 23:11 BSB

Are you a witness for the Lord, and are you currently in danger? Then remember, you are immortal until your work is done. If the Lord has more work for you to do, you will live to do it. Who can break the vessel that the Lord intends to use again?

If your work is finished, you need not worry that the Lord is about to take you home, where you will be beyond the reach of adversaries. Your witness for Jesus is your main concern, and you cannot be stopped until it is complete. Therefore, be at peace. Cruel slander, wicked misrepresentation, betrayal by friends, and anything else that may come cannot hinder the Lord’s purpose for you. The Lord stands by you in your sorrow, and He says, "You must still bear witness for me." Be calm; be filled with joy in the Lord.

If you don’t need this promise now, you may soon. Treasure it. Also, remember to pray for missionaries and all who are persecuted, that the Lord would preserve them until their lifework is complete.
