Not Forgotten

Remember these things, O Jacob, for you are My servant, O Israel. I have made you, and you are My servant; O Israel, I will never forget you. — Isa 44:21 BSB

Our Jehovah cannot forget His servants or cease to love them. He chose them not for a moment but forever. He knew what they would be when He called them into His divine family. He blots out their sins like a cloud, and we can be sure that He will not abandon them for iniquities that He has already blotted out. To think otherwise would be blasphemy.

He will not forget them or cease to think of them. One moment of forgetfulness from our God would mean our ruin. Therefore, He says, "You shall not be forgotten by Me." People may forget us; those we have helped may turn against us. We have no lasting place in the fickle hearts of men, but God will never forget one of His true servants. He is bound to us, not by what we do for Him, but by what He has done for us. We have been loved for too long and bought at too great a price to be forgotten now. Jesus sees in us the travail of His soul, and that He can never forget. The Father sees in us the spouse of His Son, and the Spirit sees in us His own effective work. The Lord thinks of us. Today, we will be helped and sustained. Oh, may the Lord never be forgotten by us!
