No Fear of Death
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who overcomes will not be harmed by the second death. — Rev 2:11 BSB
The first death is inevitable unless the Lord returns suddenly, but we can face it without fear because Jesus has transformed death from a dark passage into a gateway to glory.
The second death, however, is to be feared—a final separation of the entire person from God. This is true death, where all peace, joy, and hope are lost. When God is gone, everything is gone. This death is far worse than mere physical death; it is an existence devoid of the life that makes it worth living.
But if we, by God’s grace, fight the good fight and overcome, the second death will have no power over us. We need not fear death and hell because we will receive a crown of life that never fades. Knowing this strengthens us for the battle ahead. Eternal life is worth every struggle, and escaping the second death is worth a lifetime of effort.
Lord, grant us the faith to overcome and the grace to remain unharmed, even when sin and Satan try to bring us down.
