All Turned to Holiness

On that day, HOLY TO THE LORD will be inscribed on the bells of the horses, and the cooking pots in the house of the LORD will be like the sprinkling bowls before the altar. — Zech 14:20 BSB

What a joyful day it is when all things are consecrated, and even the bells on the horses ring out "Holiness to the Lord"! That day has come to me. Shouldn't I make everything holy to God? When I put on or take off my garments, shouldn't they remind me of the righteousness of Christ Jesus, my Lord? Shouldn't my work be done as unto the Lord? Oh, that today my clothes may be vestments, my meals sacraments, my house a temple, my table an altar, my speech incense, and myself a priest! Lord, fulfill Your promise, and let nothing be to me common or unclean.

Let me expect this in faith. Believing it to be so, I will be helped to make it so. As I am the property of Jesus, my Lord may take an inventory of all I have, for it is entirely His own. I resolve to prove this by how I use it today. From morning till evening, I want to order everything by a happy and holy rule. My bells shall ring—why shouldn't they? Even my horses shall have bells—who has a better right to music than the saints? But all my bells, my music, my joy shall be turned to holiness and shall ring out the name of “the happy God.”
