The King's Highway

And there will be a highway called the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not travel it—only those who walk in the Way—and fools will not stray onto it. — Isa 35:8 BSB

The way of holiness is so straightforward and clear that even the simplest minds cannot go astray if they consistently follow it. The worldly wise often take many twists and turns, yet they make grave mistakes and usually miss their goal. Worldly wisdom is a poor, shortsighted guide, leading people over dark and treacherous paths. However, those with gracious hearts know no better than to do as the Lord commands, which keeps them on the King's highway and under His royal protection.

Let us never, even for a moment, try to solve our problems by lying or by doing anything questionable; instead, let us remain on the path of truth and integrity, knowing that we are following the best possible course. In our lives, we should never practice deceit or entertain thoughts of compromising our principles. Be just and fear not. Follow Jesus, regardless of the consequences. If the worst troubles could be avoided by doing wrong, in attempting to avoid them, we would fall into an evil worse than any other trouble could bring. God's way must be the very best way. Follow it, even if others think you are a fool, and you will be truly wise.

Lord, lead Your servants in a clear path, especially because of their enemies.
