Spurgeon's Prayer: Praying for the World and Its People

Ask Me, and I will make the nations Your inheritance, the ends of the earth Your possession.
— Psalm 2:8 (BSB)

The kingdom is the Lord’s, and He will take care that it advances and increases.
— Charles Spurgeon

Lord, tonight we lift up the world before You. We pray for the spread of the Gospel, that Your Word would go forth to the ends of the earth and bring salvation to all who hear it. You have promised to make the nations Your inheritance, and we ask that You would fulfill that promise. May the light of Christ shine brightly in every corner of the world, drawing people to Your truth and love.

Father, we pray for Your blessing on all missions and the work of Your Church. Strengthen those who are laboring in the mission fields, giving them boldness and wisdom as they proclaim the Gospel. We ask that You would provide for their needs and protect them from harm. May the churches at home be filled with Your Spirit, and may we all be united in our desire to see Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Lord, we also pray for peace and justice among the nations. We ask that You would bring an end to conflict and strife, and that leaders would seek justice, mercy, and truth. May Your peace reign in the hearts of all people, and may the love of Christ transform communities and nations.

As we rest tonight, we trust that Your kingdom will continue to grow and advance. We believe that Your will is being done, even when we cannot see it. Strengthen our faith, and help us to rest in the knowledge that You are in control of all things. Bless Your Word and Your work, and may Your name be glorified in all the earth. Amen.
