Spurgeon's Prayer: Salvation for Our Loved Ones
They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household.”
— Acts 16:31 (BSB)
Do not stop pleading with God until the child of many prayers is saved.
— Charles Spurgeon
Lord, we bring before You the burden of our hearts for the salvation of our loved ones. We pray earnestly for those who do not yet know You, asking that You would work in their hearts and draw them to Yourself. Father, grant that we may see our prayers answered and our loved ones come to faith. We cry out to You on their behalf, knowing that only You can open their hearts to the truth of the Gospel.
God, save our children, our grandchildren, and our family members who have not yet placed their trust in Christ. In Your mercy, do not let them continue in unbelief. Give us the joy of seeing them turn to You in repentance and faith. Lord, we have grieved over them as unbelievers; may we now rejoice over them as believers.
We trust in Your timing, knowing that You desire all to come to repentance. Help us to remain faithful in prayer, not growing weary but continuing to intercede for those we love. Give us the confidence that You hear our prayers and that You are working, even when we do not yet see the results. Let us stand firm in faith, trusting that You are able to save to the uttermost.
Lord, we also pray for ourselves as we bear this burden. Help us to carry it with hope and not with despair. Strengthen our faith and give us peace, knowing that You are sovereign over all things. May our lives be a testimony of Your grace, and may we shine the light of Christ to those we love. Amen.
