Spurgeon's Prayer: Worshiping the Redeemer
But You, O LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, and the One who lifts my head.
— Psalm 3:3 (BSB)
I will not fear, for God is with me. I will not be dismayed, for He is my God.
— Charles Spurgeon
Lord Jesus, as the day comes to an end, we lift our hearts in praise and worship to You. You are our Redeemer, the One who gave Your life for us. With Your heart’s blood, You ransomed us from sin and death, and we are eternally grateful. We bow before You tonight, acknowledging that You are worthy of all honor, power, and glory.
Lord, as we think of Your great sacrifice, we are filled with awe. You took on human form to become our closest relative, our Redeemer, and You paid the ultimate price for us. We cannot fully grasp the depth of Your love, but we thank You with all our hearts. Tonight, we rest in the assurance that we are Yours, and You are ours.
Father, as we lay down to sleep, we trust in Your protection. You are our shield and the lifter of our heads. Though we may face trials and challenges, we know that You are with us, watching over us. We take comfort in Your care and ask that You give us peace as we rest tonight.
O Lord, lift the burdens from our hearts and replace them with the joy of knowing we are redeemed. Help us focus on Your love, and let our souls find rest in You. Just as You lifted our heads when we were bowed down by sin, lift us again tonight, reminding us of Your constant care.
As we close this day, we worship You, our Redeemer and King. You are our strength, our shield, and our refuge. We rest in the security of Your love, trusting You with all that concerns us. Thank You for being our protector and our Redeemer.
