Spurgeon's Prayer: Consecration and Service

Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
— Romans 12:1 (BSB)

If we give God service, it must be because He gives us grace. We work for Him because He works in us.
— Charles Spurgeon

Lord, as we end this day, we come before You, offering ourselves as living sacrifices. We belong to You, and everything we have is Yours. Tonight, we consecrate ourselves to Your service. Take our hearts, our minds, our hands, and our feet, and use them for Your glory. We ask that You would sanctify every part of us, that we may live in full surrender to You.

Father, we confess that we are often tempted to hold back, to keep parts of our lives for ourselves. But we know that everything we have comes from You, and we want to use it all for Your kingdom. Take our talents, our time, and our possessions, and let them be used to bring glory to Your name. Help us not to seek our own gain, but to live fully for You.

Lord, we pray that You would empower us by Your grace. We cannot serve You in our own strength, but we know that with Your Spirit, we can do all things. Fill us with Your power and use us to be salt and light in this world. Let our conversations, actions, and even our thoughts reflect Your holiness. May our lives be a witness to those around us, pointing them to the grace and truth found in Jesus.

As we close this day, we surrender ourselves fully to You. Help us live tomorrow with the same heart of service and consecration. Thank You for the privilege of serving You, Lord, and for the grace You give to make it possible. May every breath we take be for Your glory, and may every minute be spent in Your service.
