‘May the LORD bless you and keep you; may the LORD cause His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; may the LORD lift up His countenance toward you and give you peace.’ — Num 6:24-26 BSB

In the first days of a new year, we all greet each other with, "Happy New Year!" Our hearts are filled with good intentions and hopes for everyone we meet. But what can we really do to ensure they have a happy new year? We can’t control their circumstances to bring happiness, nor can we even know what would truly be best for them.

The safest and most loving thing we can do is to pray that God will be with them throughout the year, blessing them in the best and truest way He knows. After all, He understands what they need better than we do.
