Far be it from You to do such a thing—to kill the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are treated alike. Far be it from You! Will not the Judge of all the earth do what is right? — Gen 18:25 BSB

Some people worry about the fate of those who have never heard the gospel, wondering how God can be just. A better approach is the one Abraham took: “Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?” We can trust God with all these difficult questions and leave them in His hands.

Others struggle with the apparent injustice in the world—how some good people face constant trouble while some wicked people seem to prosper. We must rest in the truth that God will always do what is right. What we call trouble may actually hold more blessing than what we call prosperity. And life doesn’t end here. God has eternity to balance the scales and make everything right.

Some people think their own lives are harder than others. They complain about their trials and disappointments, and they become discontent with what God has given them. They say God is good, but their complaints suggest they don’t truly believe it. Abraham’s words should be a rebuke to all of us when we feel this way. God’s justice is perfect—He can never do anything but what is right and good.
