On that day the Branch of the LORD will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land will be the pride and glory of Israel’s survivors. — Isa 4:2 BSB

Where on earth or in heaven can we find anything as beautiful as the Son of God? The Bride’s companions ask, “What makes your beloved better than others?” And she replies, “My beloved is radiant and handsome, the best among ten thousand.” If you’ve never seen beauty in Jesus, then you’ve never truly seen Him. He’s never revealed Himself to you. But if He has shown Himself to you, even a little, you’ve seen a beauty that surpasses all others. It’s a holy beauty, a divine beauty—far beyond anything human. Not even Adam or Eve, in their innocence, could compare to the beauty of Jesus, the glorious Son of God, who radiates truth and love.

He is not only beautiful but also glorious. Faith sees the glory of His eternal Deity, His divine Sonship, and His role as the exact representation of God’s nature. We see His glory in His atoning blood, His righteousness, and His love. Even in His suffering—sweating blood in Gethsemane, hanging in agony on the cross—faith sees the beauty and glory of the Redeemer. There was glory in His obedience, His submission to God’s will, and His patience in suffering. He bore our sins on the cross, and through His sacrifice, He put away sin forever.

Faith also sees Him in His resurrection, His ascension to heaven, and His enthronement at the right hand of the Father, where He is crowned with glory and honor, with all things under His feet.
