The one who practices sin is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the very start. This is why the Son of God was revealed, to destroy the works of the devil. — 1 John 3:8 BSB
There will be no complete destruction of the sin within us until our bodies are laid in the grave, and our souls rise to be with the Lord. And even then, the full effects of sin on our bodies won't be wiped out until the resurrection, when our bodies will be raised from the dust and transformed into the glorious likeness of the body of the Son of God, perfectly fit for our immortal souls. Only then will the victory be complete. Christ will appear, shining with a brilliance beyond any sun, and in that moment, the full glory of the Son of God will be revealed, and the works of the devil will be entirely destroyed. This manifestation of Christ’s glory, destroying the works of the devil, will be the theme of heaven's eternal song of praise.
The redeemed will look down from heaven and see the devastation the devil has caused—millions of souls in eternal misery—while they themselves are safe in the arms of eternal love. They will see the Son of God in all His heart-ravishing glory, a glory the three disciples only glimpsed on the Mount of Transfiguration. Their joy will be to see Him as He is. He will always wear His human nature and never set it aside. That nature, resplendent with the glory of the Godhead, will be the object of eternal admiration and love. All the saints in heaven will gaze upon and adore this God-man in His glory, for sin will have no hold on them, and they will be conformed to the glorified image of the Son of God, forever celebrating the triumph of the cross.
