Father, I want those You have given Me to be with Me where I am, that they may see the glory You gave Me because You loved Me before the foundation of the world. — John 17:24 BSB
Nothing short of revealing and sharing this glory could satisfy God's heart, and nothing short of experiencing this glory can satisfy the heart of man. Heaven, without this, wouldn’t feel like heaven to our soul. If we were denied the chance to see the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ, or to view the glory of God in human form, or to be transformed into His glorious image, becoming completely holy in both body and soul, there would be no true heaven for the redeemed. But God, in giving heaven to His saints as their eternal home, also gave them an eternal weight of glory. He has planned that all those He chose for salvation will reach the shores of heaven; none will be lost along the way, sin will not destroy them, and Satan’s schemes will not succeed against their eternal safety. Every member of Christ’s mystical body will forever be with their glorious Head in the realms of bliss, to see and share in the glory that will be revealed when He comes with all His saints.
It is this hope of eternal glory that drives Christians in their battles against sin and motivates them to keep fighting until victory is won. It strengthens their hearts through all the troubles and trials of this life, pushing them to press on towards this immortal prize, so they can reach that land where tears are wiped away, and where the glory of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit is seen and enjoyed through the glorified humanity of Jesus, with nothing to dim its light or block its eternal brilliance.
