Commit your way to the LORD; trust in Him, and He will do it. — Ps 37:5 BSB
What will God bring to pass? The thing that lies deepest in your heart—"your way." Isn’t "your way" what is most deeply rooted in your soul—the path God has led you on and is leading you on now? You may be troubled, doubting, and fearful, sinking down to the lowest depths, but even in that low place, if the Lord enables you to commit your way to Him, trusting Him, He will bring about more than your heart desires.
Consider the movements of your heart toward God. Look at your temptations and trials, at what rolls back and forth in your mind, tossed on the waves of your anxious heart—what lies closest and deepest within. Let your conscience speak honestly. Whatever that is, the Lord tells you, and at times enables you, to commit it to Him and trust Him with it.
Now, whatever that deep concern may be, if you commit it to God, He will bring it to pass. Does it seem surrounded by darkness? Do mountains of difficulty stand in its way? Do not worry—God will bring it to pass, overcoming all obstacles, through and in spite of all hindrances. He "will bring it to pass"—that which lies deepest in your heart, nearest to your affections, and that which, by the working of living faith, you are able to commit into the hands of the Almighty Lord.
