And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. — Rom 8:27 BSB
God's will is unchanging and unchangeable, just like He is. Our wills fluctuate constantly, but His remains steadfast. Since God's will always stands, it is our highest wisdom and greatest blessing to submit to it and be conformed to it. For those who desire to fear His name, His will is not for their destruction but for their salvation, both now and in eternity. His will is for our present grace and our eternal glory. The Spirit intercedes for us according to God's will. Isn't it our deepest desire and prayer that our souls be saved and blessed, that we may serve God and live for His glory, and that when we die, we will be with Him forever?
Therefore, lie humbly at His feet. Be as clay, and let Him be your heavenly Potter. Don’t think you can save yourself or that you need to assist in God's gracious work. Be content to be nothing—or rather, to be less than nothing—so that Christ may be all in all. Above all, seek the Spirit’s interceding breath, for with that, you have a guarantee that He will guide you through life, support you in death, and bring you to glory. With His guidance, you cannot go astray; with His support, you cannot fall. If taught by Him, the path of life becomes clear, and upheld by His strength, you can walk in it without fear.
Without His light, we are in darkness; without His life, we are dead; without His teaching, we are ignorant and foolish. We cannot find the way unless He guides us, but if He guides us, we will surely find it. The more we trust in His teaching and guidance, the better it will be for us. The more we can submit to His will, the more peace we will find, and the more glory it will bring to Him.
