Life Is Worth While
And whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. — Col 3:17 BSB
Nothing is more harmful than drifting aimlessly through life. God has endowed each soul with a distinct purpose. There are moments of clarity in every life when we catch a glimpse of the work we were sent to do. We stand, like Moses, on the mount of vision and see the blueprint of the tabernacle we are called to build. Just as God designed our physical bodies with care and intention, He has also crafted a purpose for our souls. If God put such thought into our bodies, how much more does He have a plan for our spirits? And if that’s the case, He will reveal His will to us, gradually unfolding our life’s purpose step by step. Let us move forward, trusting our Almighty Friend to provide the grace, wisdom, and strength we need.
Imagine the captain of a cricket team stepping out onto the field, watched closely by the crowd. In his heart, he is likely saying, “I am going to score a hundred runs, at the very least!” As he faces one of the fastest and most skilled bowlers, he thinks, “You may give it your best, but I am going to win!” This is the spirit in which we should face life: “I will succeed by God’s grace.”
Never forget that God is working alongside you. "The Lord will perfect what concerns me." He will not abandon the work of His hands. In my 81 years of life, I’ve experienced more ups and downs than most, but I can say with confidence that where God gives the plan, He guarantees the result. Dare to trust Him, and keep pace with Him as He leads you forward.
Prayer
O God, the God of all goodness and grace, who deserves a greater love than we can give or comprehend, fill my heart with such love for You that it drives out all laziness and fear. May nothing seem too hard for me to do or suffer in obedience to You. Amen.
