The cry for mercy is the heart’s true language when it turns to Jesus.

Spurgeon’s Daily Help

If our Lord is so ready to heal the sick and bless those in need, then don’t hesitate to place yourself in his path, so he can smile on you. Don’t be slow to ask if he is so generous in giving. Listen carefully to his word, so that Jesus may speak directly to your heart. Go where he can be found so you

can receive his blessing. If he is present to heal, won’t he heal you? And surely, he is present now, for he always comes to hearts that need him. And don’t you need him? He knows how much! Son of David, turn your eyes upon the distress before you and make your supplicant whole.

“There’s something in me that reproves my fault.” Thank God for that, because conscience is like the brake that slows down a runaway carriage. Listen to that inner warning. It’s foolish to silence your conscience like a man who shoots his watchdog for

barking at night, only to leave himself vulnerable to thieves. Don’t treat your conscience that way; be grateful for its warnings and obey them willingly.
