Christ is the same; His person never changes. If He were to visit us on earth again—and He surely will—we would find Him the same Jesus: just as loving, just as approachable, just as generous, just as kind. Even though He will be clothed in more glorious garments than when He first walked the earth,

even though He will no longer be the Man of Sorrows, He will still be the same person, unchanged by all His glories, triumphs, and joys. We bless Christ because, even in His heavenly splendor, He is still the same, His nature unaffected. "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."

Bunyan tells us that Mercy laughed in her sleep, and it’s no wonder—she was dreaming of Jesus. My joy won’t fall short of hers as long as my Beloved is the focus of my daily thoughts. The Lord Jesus is a vast ocean of delight; my soul will dive into the

depths of Christ’s own joy. Sarah looked at her son Isaac and laughed with pleasure, and all her friends laughed with her. So you, my soul, look at your Lord and invite Heaven and earth to join in your unspeakable joy.
