The greatest and the hottest fires that ever were on earth are but ice, in comparison to the fire of Hell!

Spurgeon’s Daily Help

When you shall make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed.—Isaiah 53:10.

Our Lord Jesus has not died in vain. His death was sacrificial; he died as our substitute, because death was the penalty of our sins, and because his substitution was accepted of God. He has saved those for whom he

made his soul a sacrifice. By death he became like the corn of wheat, which brings forth much fruit.—There must be a succession of children to Jesus; he is "the Father of the everlasting age." He shall say, "Behold, I and the children whom you have given me."

The Spurgeon Birthday Book

It is marvelous how fine the wire may be which carries the electric fluid. We need a cable to carry a message across the sea, but that is for the protection of the wire; the wire itself, which actually carries the message, is a slender thing. Thus even

a little faith in Christ links us with God, and the life of God comes to us thereby. The connecting medium may be a mere spider's line of trembling faith; but, if it runs all the way from the heart of Christ to our heart, divine grace can and will flow through it.
