You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on another. For on whatever grounds you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. — Rom 2:1 BSB
We aren’t judged by the advantages we have, but by what we do with those advantages.
In fact, the more light we have, the greater our responsibility, and the more will be required of us. If we sit comfortably in our privileges and judge those who don’t have them, we must be careful, because in condemning others, we may condemn ourselves.
It’s a blessing to be born in a Christian land and raised in a Christian home, but if we don’t live according to those blessings, it would have been better if we were born in a land without those privileges.
Jesus said as much about the people of Capernaum and other cities where He lived, preached, and performed miracles. He said it would be more tolerable for Sodom than for them because they had rejected the grace that had been given to them.
We should take this lesson to heart, for Christ walks among us today.
