At this moment, we rest in the promises of our faithful God, knowing that His words are full of truth and power. We find comfort in the teachings of His Word, which bring us consolation, and in the covenant of His grace, which is a place of delight. Jesus Himself is the resting place for His people.

Whenever we draw near to Him—whether through communion, hearing the Word, reading the Scriptures, prayer, or praise—we find peace for our souls. The God of Peace gives perfect peace to those whose hearts are anchored in Him.

We may dread the snow, but it actually warms the earth. “He gives snow like wool.”

“Earth receives Gladly the thickening mantle; and the green And tender blade, that feared the chilling blast, Escapes unhurt beneath so warm a veil.”

Everything that

comes from God is a blessing, not a curse. Look for the good in all of them, and you’ll find reasons to thank Him.
