Today’s Quote
We have work to do in the world, more to do in the Church and in our homes but most of all, in our own hearts.
— John Newton
Spurgeon’s Daily Help
It’s not uncommon; it’s a general rule in life that those who work with all their heart tend to succeed, while those who don’t put their heart into their work are likely to fail. God doesn’t give harvests to idle people, except harvests of thistles, nor does He bless those who won’t work for their wealth.
It’s widely accepted that if someone wants to prosper, they must be diligent. The same is true in our spiritual lives. If you want to prosper in your work for Jesus, put your whole heart into it.

Yes, there are unique dangers in good times that we don’t face in hard times. “It’s the bright day that brings forth the adder.” Be cautious if you’re wealthy, for your position is more dangerous than you might think. “The path is smooth that leads to
danger.” People in trouble ask for our prayers, but those without trouble need them even more. Let us pray.
