Today’s Quote

The empty tomb is the fountain of all Christian hope, where death was defeated forever.

— J.C. Ryle

Spurgeon’s Daily Help

"Come, see the place where the Lord lay." Surely, you don’t need any persuasion to visit the holy tomb; but still, I will do my best to draw your spirit there. If you ask me who the greatest person who ever lived was, I would tell you it was Jesus Christ, who was "anointed with the oil of gladness above

all others." If you’re looking for a place honored as the resting place of Jesus, come here; if you want to worship at the grave of holiness, come here; if you want to see the sacred spot, join me in that quiet garden near the walls of Jerusalem.

April 1

A Christian making money quickly is like a man walking through a cloud of March dust—it will get in his eyes if he’s not careful. A Christian burdened with worldly concerns is in the same situation and should be cautious lest he becomes overwhelmed by

earthly things. Afflictions might even be something to pray for if we never experience them, just as men pray for rain after long periods of dry weather to settle the dust. An April shower, though it may seem to ruin a day, can be a great blessing.
