Jesus explained, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work. — John 4:34 BSB

True spiritual nourishment comes from doing the will of God. When Jesus was tempted to turn stones into bread, He responded, “Man shall not live by bread alone.” Later, when His disciples urged Him to eat, He said, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me.” He had just ministered to a spiritually starving woman, and in doing so, He found nourishment for His own soul.

The secret to a well-nourished spiritual life is obedience and service. Sin never satisfies because it is disobedience. Selfishness doesn’t satisfy either because true life is found in love, and love always seeks the good of others.

If we do God’s will, we will find sustenance for our souls in every act of obedience and love. If we want to live without weariness, we must learn to do the will of God. This is the hidden manna that feeds those who partake of it.
