And his heart took delight in the ways of the LORD; furthermore, he removed the high places and Asherah poles from Judah. — 2 Chr 17:6 BSB
There’s a bad kind of pride and a good kind of elevation. Some people become vain when they experience success. The temptation, when we first accomplish something significant, is to become proud.
But success should make us humble. It should remind us that God is using us, entrusting us with something precious to help others, and blessing the work we do for Him. Every gift we receive from God should inspire us to be more earnest in following His will.
Too often, as wealth and success come, people become so absorbed in these gifts that they forget the Giver.
We should always remember that every blessing we receive is a sign of God’s care for us. This should lead us to love Him more and devote ourselves more fully to His work.
If we see God’s hand in every new blessing, our hearts will be lifted up in the ways of the Lord.
