But when the son of Paul’s sister heard about the plot, he went into the barracks and told Paul. — Acts 23:16 BSB

One thing is certain: God protects the lives of those carrying out His plans.

No bullet on the battlefield can strike the man who still has work to do for God tomorrow. Paul had been assured that he must testify in Rome. The next day, a conspiracy was formed to kill him. But his enemies couldn’t touch him—he was under God’s protection.

God’s ways of carrying out His purposes are often mysterious. We know little about Paul’s nephew—we only catch a brief glimpse of him here. Somehow, this young man learned of the plot and had the courage to act, warning Paul.

Human actions play an important role in God’s deliverance. We must always be ready to do our part in helping those in trouble. Our actions might be the key, and neglecting our duty could cause the entire plan to fail.
