So we aspire to please Him, whether we are here in this body or away from it. — 2 Cor 5:9 BSB
Every Christian is called to work for their Master.
“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us.” The mission of every believer is to win others to Christ. Our lives should be a testimony of divine grace, so full of love that everyone we encounter, even briefly, will sense a message silently urging them, “Be reconciled to God.”
Before we say a word, our lives must first be an ambassador for Christ. The most powerful words won’t have any effect unless the love of Christ is already seen in our lives.
“God loves you, and I love you” is the only message that will truly reach hearts. You can’t start a fire with ice. A selfish person can’t preach a gospel of love. The love of God we proclaim must be shown through human love in our eagerness to help others.
We must carry our own cross if we’re going to talk about the cross of Calvary.
