It is clear that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. — 2 Cor 3:3 BSB

It’s a great gift to have the ability to write, especially when that gift is dedicated to Christ.

There are few ways to do more good than by writing letters to those in need of encouragement. Paul was a great letter-writer. When he couldn’t visit the churches, he wrote to them, offering advice, comfort, and instruction.

Paul also speaks of a different kind of letter—one written on people’s lives. We can write these letters too. Every time we plant a new thought in someone’s heart, we are writing a letter that will be read wherever that person goes.

There is a group called “The League of the Golden Pen.” Their motto is, “I write a letter at least once a month, in the spirit of Christ, to stranger, friend, or kin, to give cheer, courage, or counsel.” It’s a beautiful idea, and those who read these words could do nothing better than to start following this practice.
